The warm, vibey feelings of summer romance always require a sweet soundtrack to make memories with, and a Chicano Rock/Soul group from East Los Angeles called The Altons have delivered a tune that fits the bill rather nicely.
“Love You Like That” is a Motown-era throwback in the best ways – sound instrumentation, brevity (the song is 2 minutes and 38 seconds long) and the lyrics delivered with an inspired vocal performance.
Adriana Flores is the lead vocalist on “Love You Like That” and her joyful vocals paint a picture of a happy and in love person. Her voice stands strong against drummer Caitlin Moss and bassist Chris Manjarrez’s steady, in-the-pocket rhythm.
Everything about “Love You Like That’ says spending time dancing at a cookout, taking a late-night drive or just snuggled up with that special someone during the warmer months of the year.
The Altons’ Bandcamp bio states that “their music is driven by intense grooves from the rhythm section that will bring you to your feet, while soulful leads inspire lovers to dance a little closer. When they take control of any stage you can always expect a fun and energetic time.”
Thanks to “Love You Like That,” it’s safe to say that mission has been accomplished.
